THE ODYSSEY : AN ART DECO CINEMA

This Art Deco cinema is a real experience to visit. Since their opening 10 yrs ago ,when funds had been already stretched, the toilet areas had not had a considered decorating scheme .
Fixures & fittings could not be changed, so this was very much a 'makeover' and decorating brief. Wallpaper was our best friend here as this is the perfect way to add drama and interest on a budget, we added panelling and Art Deco detailing to the current doors where we could. Mindful of the heavy footfall there were limitations to the products we could use.
Having grown up in St. Albans and visited the original cinema as a teenager this was a
meaningful project for Clair to be a part of. ​

​There are 7 areas in total. The foyer is unisex with 4 individual spaces within it, an opportunity to really
play with the colour schemes. The lower ground floor spaces have a gold & black theme.
